OWGK SHORE UP THEIR DEFENCE
Monday July 6th/09
The Ottawa-west Golden Knights Jr. Hockey Club are pleased to announce the acquisition of defenseman Mitch Melanson from the Arnprior Packers . In return Arnprior receive two (2) talented young prospects in Chris Shepherd and Kyle Drisdelle both of who are graduating midgets from the last year's city championship Major Midget team The Nepean Raiders coached by Peter Tenute.

The Knights are hoping that Melanson will shore up what should be a good defensive core. President / Owner Blake Sinclair is expecting Melanson to come to camp in excellent shape. We are looking for him to add a little offence on the back end but like everyone else in this organization knows, he'll have to earn his ice time.
